Clinical Manager & Lead Clinician
Monarch Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Clinical Manager to combine a reduced clinical caseload with meaningful leadership responsibility. In this role, you will support clinical excellence, mentor clinicians, strengthen team culture, and help improve the client and clinician experience.
This is a full-time, salaried, overtime-exempt position based in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate is licensed in Texas as an LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCSW-S, or Licensed Psychologist, brings at least 4 years of post-licensure clinical experience, and has prior supervisory or management experience. Private practice experience is strongly preferred.

Clinical Manager & Lead Clinician

- Bring sound clinical judgment and can guide staff through complex situations, including crisis response and high-acuity cases.

- Are organized, proactive, and motivated to improve systems, team effectiveness, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a reduced clinical caseload of approximately 10-12 clients per week while leading day-to-day clinical operations.
- Supervise, mentor, and support clinicians through consultation, feedback, training, and performance management.
- Ensure high standards for documentation, ethics, compliance, and implementation of clinical best practices.
- Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, retention, and team development.
- Lead team meetings, provide clinical consultation, and support alignment across clinical and leadership teams.
- Identify and implement process improvements that strengthen client experience, team efficiency, and practice performance.
- Provide thoughtful, constructive feedback and proactively address operational or clinical challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Texas license as an LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCSW-S, or Licensed Psychologist.
- Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related clinical field.
- At least 4 years of post-licensure experience providing direct clinical care.
- Prior supervisory or management experience in a clinical setting, preferably private practice.
- Experience with hiring, onboarding, retention, or process improvement initiatives.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities.

- A clinical niche or area of specialization such as trauma, anxiety, grief, or child and adolescent counseling.
